Trace

All these images, except the last, were taken between 2008 and 2010 in Beirut. Back then, digital SLRs had just become popular, and slow exposure was simply fun. I was only chasing light, unaware I was also tracing a city’s pulse.

Looking at them now, I see a city that no longer exists. The light trails, the neon, the rush, all traces of a life that disappeared after the collapse, the explosion, and everything that followed. The last photograph, taken in 2025, feels like both a goodbye and a flicker of faith, a trace of what was and what might still be.

The selection below offers a glimpse into the series, not its entirety.
