The Fridge Portal
Pictures from a Parallel Universe
In 2025, AI tools began to mature, and with them came the familiar panic: was photography over, or simply mutating again? For me, these models are not replacements but companions, new lenses through which to test the edges of imagination. The Fridge Portal began as a thought experiment: what if a refrigerator in Beirut glitched open into a parallel universe where Hendrix still played and Cartier-Bresson missed his own decisive moment?
These AI generated images that follow are not documentary, nor are they satire. They are records from a machine-assisted fiction, staged with the grain, color shifts, and imperfections of expired film. They are not technically perfect, and this is not the point. Their function is not to deceive but to provoke: if a picture can never again be trusted, what other roles can it play?
The images below are a selection from the project and do not represent the full body of work.
